Western Alumni builds a sucessful business: Clearwater Pump Service

David Parson, owner of Clearwater Pump Service, graduated from Western in 2003 with a B.S. in business administration. At the beginning of this year, Parson decided to take his knowledge from Western and his passion for the pump service industry and start his own business in Forest Grove, Ore.: Clearwater Pump Service.

“I feel in love hearing stories about my family from customers who remembered back 15 years. That is the kind of impression you can make with customers in this business. If you are honest, personable and treat people like you wanted to be treated, they will remember you by name 15 years later,” says Parson.

With the help of Parson’s sister, Kim Beeler of Beeler Marketing, the company will grow despite these tough economic times.

Beeler has been operating Beeler Marketing for over 10 years now and helps companies such as Clearwater Pump Service to promote their products and services.

Parson started his work in 1996 and continued during winter and summer breaks after starting college the 1998-1999 school year. After graduating in 2003, Parson worked in the industry full time at a family business before forming his own business.

Clearwater Pump Service specializes in the maintenance and installation of well pumps, irrigation pumps, water filtration and water quality issues.

The residential and agricultural services provided by the company include free water mineral testing, free estimates, water portability and flow tests, trenching, 24-hour emergency services and a standard five-year warranty on new installations.

“The most common service calls include loss of water or water pressure, as well as concerns about water quality such as stains, discoloration, taste and smell,” states Beeler. Read more…
